Responsibilities and Expectations: 

We are looking for a talented Field Service Team Leader for our Jacksonville, FL field service team who can hit the ground running. As a Field Service Team Leader for IPS, you will possess strong repair skills and provide unmatched service to our customers. You will perform vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and various electrical tests as you diagnose and repair units. This is a hands-on position requiring the aptitude and attitude to do whatever it takes to safely get the customers back online. IPS Field Service Technicians demonstrate strong repair skills and commitment to providing an Unmatched Customer Experience. 

Key Technical Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Testing: Perform vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and comprehensive electrical testing (including Megger®, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, and DLRO) to diagnose equipment condition.
  • Mechanical Repair & Installation: Install and remove AC/DC electric motors, execute precision laser alignment, and replace sleeve and anti-friction bearings.
  • Precision Work: Read precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers), set air gaps and seals, and torque critical components to exact specifications.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean electro-mechanical equipment using methods such as bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvent cleaning.
  • Leadership & Documentation: Oversee field technicians, provide on-the-job training in advanced electrical and maintenance practices, and prepare technical reports detailing equipment conditions and recommended actions.
  • Operational Oversight: Assist with job walks, define work scopes for preventative maintenance and motor change-outs, and ensure compliance with all safety and operating procedures.
Qualifications & Competencies

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on AC/DC motor experience.
  • Technical Preferences: PdMA testing experience and Level I Vibration Analysis certification are preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to perform math functions, including fractions and percentages, and apply analytical problem-solving to resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Physical & Operational Requirements: Ability to work in challenging environments, travel locally and occasionally overnight, and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Compliance: Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Compensation: $33-$41/hour, depending on experience.
